Help & Support

Moving from school to college can be something of a culture shock. But at «Ƶ, we’ve created a supportive, social environment where you can easily access the help and advice you need, make new friends and get the most out of your time with us.

Student Support

We understand that transitioning to college can bring about concerns, and we want to assure you that we are here to support you every step of the way.

Your progress tutor is dedicated to helping you navigate through the academic year, offering guidance in setting challenging yet attainable goals that align with your aspirations.

Our Student Support team is readily available to assist with various matters, including student funding, financial aid, as well as spiritual and health concerns. You’re not alone in facing these challenges; we’re here to provide the support you need.

For those with inclusion needs, such as requiring classroom support or accommodations to facilitate learning, our team offers a range of tailored services to ensure your individual needs are met effectively.

Furthermore, we have established partnerships with specialist external providers to maintain consistency and quality in the support offered, whether it’s provided directly by the College or through external channels.

At «Ƶ safeguarding is really important and all our staff have a responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of our students.

We have a trained team of safeguarding professionals available between 08:30am and 5pm Monday to Thursday and 08:30am to 4:30pm on a Friday.

Mental Health Early Help Pathway

Just as we all have physical health, we all have mental health. «Ƶ has developed pathway resources including self help guides, workshops, events and even a podcast to help you to access support as early as possible.

​Additional Learning Support (ALS)

The Additional Learning Support Team (ALS) can offer Information, Advice and Guidance for students who experience learning difficulties or a disability and their families.

The team provide support to students with a wide range of specific needs and disabilities, including completing assessments of needs, advising on what kind of support should be provided, and contributing as appropriate to Education Health Care Plans (EHCP).

Referral to these services is made via the ALS Team and is subject to funding. If you would like to discuss your specific needs or requirements, please contact the team at 01473 382700 or email us at als@suffolk.ac.uk.

It's Never OK

It’s Never OK is our College-wide awareness campaign for Sexual Abuse, Sexual Harassment, Sexual Violence, Harmful Sexual Behaviour (HSB), peer-on-peer abuse sexual abuse.

  • CV Writing

This means students can get help with finding and researching the right information for assignments, making effective notes, starting and finishing assignments, structuring and developing ideas, proofreading, revision and exam techniques and numeracy, literacy, and IT skills support.

Financial Support

The College offers bursary schemes to enrolled students which offers assistance with kits, travel to College, uniform, college trips and other course materials.
